An installment in a concept docu-series made by geoscience PhD candidates at the University of Wisconsin. While they are filmmakers and musicians, they are still science writers. I took their short script and reworked it for emotional impact without losing the intellectual voice and tone.

One example of the many instructions booklets I’ve written. These require a high-degree of cross-team collaboration, particularly with Product and Legal to dial in the language of instructions. It had to be clear UX writing, technically accurate, and legally compliant. Instructions ship in each package, live on the web, and get trafficked and dissected online by users. I also re-purposed them into video scripts.

A landing page experience developed in partnership with Backcountry.com. Required me to step outside the internal brand voice and work within Backcountry’s brand identity and style.

We collaborated with professional artists to develop custom prints for a line of microfiber travel towels. I interviewed the artists and wrote short bios to appear on the packaging and ecomm pages. Can be found in Outdoor retail spaces, like REI, around the world. A biography is one of my favorite things to write.

An educational one-pager explaining a patent-pending sleeping bag design and the ambiguities it raised in the EN/ISO temperature ratings of sleeping bags. This was developed for the Sales team to educate dealers at sell-in and better position the product as uniquely disruptive. We were striving for high thought leadership here.
